Decent lunch special value

I was looking for a good lunch deal and saw Yummy House had specials. I ended up getting the General Tso Chicken lunch special. It came with rice and a soup, I picked the Hot and Sour. For about $12, it was a pretty good amount of food. The chicken was crispy and the sauce was flavorful, not too sweet. Saved a few bucks compared to ordering everything separately. Worth it if you're trying to stick to a budget for lunch.

Good food, easy pickup

I ordered some Salt and Pepper Calamari and a side of Singapore Rice Noodles last week for dinner. The online ordering was super easy to use, and picking up at the Tampa location was quick. Food was hot and tasty, just what I was hoping for. No complaints from me!

Consistent quality, always good

I've been going to Yummy House for a while now, usually the Sarasota one, and they're pretty consistent. This time I got the Roast Duck and some Shrimp Dumplings. The duck was just as good as I remember from my last visit a few months ago. The dim sum is always fresh. It's why I keep coming back, can always count on them for a solid meal. Still wish they had a location closer to me, but the drive is worth it.

Does Yummy House do any special deals for birthdays? Like a free dessert or something if you mention it?

K Kate 1 month ago
I've gone for my birthday a couple times and I think they do have something for loyalty members? Like if you're signed up with their local program, you might get a coupon. But just walking in and mentioning it, probably not a standard thing.

Afaik, it's mostly tied into their loyalty points. I got a small discount around my birthday last year, but I'm on their email list.

Can you use Grubhub or Uber Eats coupons for Yummy House takeout orders?

J Josh 1 month ago
Nah, I don't think they usually honor those. Their coupon policy is pretty strict about only using their own loyalty program stuff. Better to check their site directly for takeout deals.

Most of their deals are in-store only, like the lunch specials. I've tried using a random digital coupon there before and it didn't work.

What's the best Yummy House location for dim sum? Is Tampa or Sarasota better?

M Mike 1 month ago
Personally, I think the Tampa location has a slightly wider selection and can feel a bit more bustling, which adds to the dim sum experience. But Sarasota is also really good, just maybe a tiny bit smaller.

They're both solid choices, honestly. The quality is pretty consistent between them. If you're closer to one, just go there, you won't be disappointed.

Does Yummy House do reservations? Or is it always just first come, first served?

T Todd Ito 2 months ago
For regular dining, I think they do take reservations, especially for bigger groups. But for dim sum on weekends, it's often more of a walk-in, wait-your-turn situation. Best to call the specific location if it's a special occasion.

I've made reservations there for dinner before, definitely. It helps if you're going with a larger party, avoids the wait.

Are their lunch specials pretty good value? What kind of dishes do they usually include?

A Amber 1 month ago
Yeah, the lunch specials are great! Super affordable, like $10-15 for a full meal. Usually, it's a main dish like General Tso's or Mongolian Beef, plus rice and sometimes a soup or spring roll.

Totally worth it. I usually grab the Kung Pao or Sweet and Sour Pork. It's a lot of food for the price, definitely fills you up.

do they have good vegetarian options beyond just plain fried rice?

C Chris 1 month ago
Yep, they do! They have things like Salt and Pepper Tofu, Mapo Tofu (just make sure to ask for no meat if that's a concern, some versions include it), Vegetable Deluxe, and Eggplant with Garlic Sauce. Plus a bunch of their noodle and rice dishes can be made veggie-friendly.

I always get the Salt and Pepper Tofu, it's amazing. And the Steamed Buns are usually vegetarian too, depending on the filling.

I'm planning a big family dinner for Chinese New Year. Does Yummy House offer special banquet menus for holidays like that?

O Omar N. 1 month ago
Oh yeah, absolutely! Chinese New Year is one of their busiest times, and they almost always have special banquet menus with set courses designed for groups. They're usually a great deal.

R Ryan K. 1 month ago
They totally do. I've been to their New Year's banquets, and the food is fantastic. You get a huge variety and it's usually specially priced for the holiday.

Hey, thinking of checking out Yummy House for dim sum this weekend. Is it usually slammed, like long waits, or can you just walk in?

A Andre 1 month ago
Oh, for dim sum, especially on a weekend, you're definitely looking at a wait. I've seen it get pretty crazy, like 45 minutes to an hour sometimes if you go during peak brunch hours. Try to get there right when they open if you can.

E Emma Hughes 1 month ago
Yeah, what they said. It's popular for a reason! But the food is totally worth the wait. They move people through pretty fast once you're seated too, the carts keep coming.
